For my 32nd birthday, Jane took me on a fly fishing float trip down the Lower Sacramento River, just outside Redding California. It was awesome! Our guide, Arron Greener, was a cool dude. We found him at www.mtshasta.com.

The Lower Sac is not the most scenic river we've fished in NorCal, but the fish are fighters! Jane and I each caught a bunch--averaging 14-16 inches. We nymphed with a 3 fly rig, a lot of weight and 6 feet between the first fly and the indicator. We fished about 10 miles from the drift boat and also did a little wading. Overall, a perfect birthday.

My brother dan has mused over the years on his ability to scare people with practical jokes.  I unfortuanetly was at the receiving end of his best one to date--The Incident at Jabe Pond.  Basically, he tourtured me and my friends--Eric, Rob and Henry--in a Blair Witch style while we were camping on an island in a small lake in the Adirondacks, Jabe Pond.

I don't think I can ever forgive him for that one, but I can try to get even.  This video is a small attempt to scare him.

The set up:  I rigged the boat house door to release a garden glove on fishing line to swing down into the face of whomever opened the door.

I sent Dan in too look for something.  He didn't open the door enough to spring the trap, so my accomplice, Jane, came to the aid.
